In 1916, sisters Adeline and Augusta Van Buren became the first women to cross the nation - from New York to California - on a pair of American made motorcycles. They wanted to prove the point that women could be motorcycle dispatch riders if the United States were to join the war.
In July, 2016 [100 years later], Adeline's grandson (Dan, left) and great grandchildren (Skyler and Sofié) will honor that legacy.
